Mother & Son Dance

Join us for our 5th annual Mother & Son Dance which will be held  Saturday, May 7th at The Fountains Banquet Center in Kalamazoo, MI. Memorial Day Parade

The annual Kalamazoo County Memorial Day Parade is back. Join us for a day of celebration and recognition of those who served our country, the memory of deceased veterans, and others who sacrificed their lives for the country. YBL Mini Camp

June 2023

The annual co-ed YBL mini-camp will be taking place in June 2023. The two-day mini-camp will help teach young people basketball fundamentals and sportsmanship. More information to come. Follow our social media pages to learn more.

YBL Season

June-August 2023

We are excited to bring back our signature Youth Basketball League. This year we will be offering a co-ed league, boys league, girls league, and middle school league. 2023 season of YBL will be played at the Douglass Community Association. If you are interested in becoming a coach, volunteer, referee, or participating in our community resource corner please feel free to reach out to volunteer@kzoocharliesplace.com! Youth Track Meet

Location: K-Christian High School 

The Kalamazoo County Youth Track and Field Meet is a recreational meet to help encourage youth to keep active and moving. No experience is required, and youth ages 5-14 are welcome to participate. The event is free for participants. To register, click on the link below.

Beyond The Backpack

Location: Bronson Park

Time: 11 AM – 3 PM 
Beyond the Backpack is an event to help prepare youth for school. Emotional health services will be provided, along with backpacks, Kalamazoo Promise, swag bags, free food boxes, books, and more. Trunk of Treats

Location: 1900 Block of Krom Street
The Trunk of Treat safe Halloween neighborhood event draws over 1,000 community members to the 1900 block of Krom St. located on the Northside of Kalamazoo. If you would like to participate by bringing a vehicle to hand out “treats” we ask that you complete the Trunk of Treat vehicle registration form.  If you would like to volunteer or if you have questions, please contact our volunteer coordinator by email at volunteer@kzoocharliesplace.com.

Family Support Program

The family support program is designed to connect, resources, and assist families who are in need. Through this program, we provide ongoing activities, resources, outings, and community connections to families in the program.
