Terry “TJ” Buchanan is graduate of Kalamazoo Central High school and an alumni member of the 2010 State Championship Giant Basketball Team. TJ currently continues his athletic career and education at the University of Rhode Island, where he landed a full-scholarship playing basketball.
TJ is a communications major with a minor in writing and hopes to one day play basketball on a professional level. Before playing both a high school and college ball, TJ started his basketball journey as a player in the Youth Basketball League (YBL). Continuing to give back to the YBL program, during the summer months, TJ can be seen refereeing games and encouraging youth in any way that he can. As an inspiring leader, TJ provides this advice to other young people: “hard work truly pays off! Never forget that anything is possible.” Charlie’s P.L.A.C.E. applauds TJ in his success as a student-athlete and appreciates the service he provided to the YBL program over the summer of 2014.
